Limited Accessibility for City University of Seattle Students
I recently attempted to use Handshake to explore job opportunities, a platform known for its utility in connecting students with potential employers. Unfortunately, I encountered a significant hurdle: my institution, City University of Seattle, is not recognized or listed within the app. This exclusion is a substantial drawback, as it restricts access to the resources and opportunities that Handshake provides, which are valuable for students' career growth. While the concept of Handshake is promising, the lack of inclusivity for all universities diminishes its potential benefits. Therefore, I am rating it 1 out of 5 stars, primarily due to this limitation. I hope to see improvements in the future that will include a wider range of institutions, ensuring all students can benefit equally from what Handshake has to offer.
Overall excellent
Easy to navigate. I find the pc version to be better though.
Just another shell Job board
This app although is useful in collating all job opportunities that comes to a university, it awful. No response by people post job, no meaningful networks and no student advantage in job hunt except for getting on campus jobs. This app check the box of 'having an app for university students' but does not fulfils the objective.
Totally Waste of Time
Majority of jobs post on Handshake are fake positions- you can make applications but you never get a reply. It’s my problem if my applications get rejected, it’s OK. But among the hundreds of my applications, like only 3 or 4 get a reply. There is no way you can networking here. People contact you are just trying to make promotions. Again- don’t make any applications on Handshake- no fucing chance you will get any result. Maybe LinkedIn, maybe Indeed, but never Handshake.
Hiral
It is a popular platform for students to find internships, jobs and other career opportunities.
This app helps out a lot
Very helpful application
App and desktop profiles are not synced
When I look at my profile on the desktop view I see my completed information. But when I try to look at my profile on the app, none of my information (work experience, school etc) is showing. Can someone fix this?
