Failed cancellation and overcharge
I tried to cancel instacart + in 2023 and thought I was successful. I went back into the account a month later to delete my account and delete the app but my account was still active. I placed one final order and remembered why I wanted to cancel: every single item is up charged from the base grocery store rate. At least 20% more expensive than grocery store prices. Not worth it if you live remotely close to a grocery store. Then I went into the app and tried to cancel my membership again. Thinking I was successful, I deleted my account. Imagine my surprise this year when I see my credit card bill with ANOTHER instacart + membership fee. After calling customer service, I was informed that I could only get a refund if I cancelled within 5 days of account renewal. I check my credit card bill monthly and had little chance of catching the 5 day window. So, now I am down $200 and more annoyed at Instacart than I was last year. Do not download this app and do not sign up for instacart +. You will never be able to escape.
UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES!!!!
This app is a SCAM and will change you for services not approved. They charged my account $99 for a subscription I NEVER APPROVED. BIG SCAM!!! Watch your account when ordering from them or Simply just don’t. Customer service agents have a strong Accent and can’t understand what they say. When ordering fruit they give you the old items that are going bad already. Definitely not worth it.
App and backend people are terrible at their job
You can hardly understand anything all the customer service agents say and in my experience I paid with food stamps and they say it’s fraud and they can’t do anything about but when I call my local office they say my card is fine nd I can use . I also know it isn’t fraud and my card can be used with in other stores. The refunds take 5bussiness days stay away unless you have money to burn!

Can’t get delivered orders
Update: I’ve spoken to several actual persons and no one has managed to fix my issues. They basically “kick it upstairs” for someone else to look at, but it never gets fixed!! At this point, almost 2 months, I’m ready to cancel and demand a refund. Seriously, this is ridiculous! They offer no help whatsoever! I’ve had Instacart for years now, no problems and I would have given it 5 stars. For the last month I’m not able to get anything delivered from any store. States that there are “no service times available” for me, but friends have no problem. I can do pickup, but due to circumstances I can’t control, I need it delivered. I’ve spoken to a live person and I’ve chatted with an online associate twice. No one seems to be able to help me. Ive deleted, downloaded again… and still the same message. So at this point…2 stars is all they get.
Total rip off.
When an order is wrong they won’t credit back the money. They give you a credit. But when you go to use your credit it’s expired and they keep your money. They list me as a customer
Items disappearing from cart
App was fine in the past but now almost every time I order, items disappear from my cart. They need to fix this glitch. Today I’m missing 4 items minimum, and those are just the ones I noticed were missing, since there’s no record of them even being part of my order.
