Long ago, the kingdom of Lantarna prospered from the blessings of a white comet that passed overhead. The art of harnessing the comet's blessings was called alchemy, and the practitioners of this art were known as alchemists.
However, when the comet disappeared and its blessings were no longer available, the use of alchemy gradually declined and was eventually forgotten.
Many years have passed, and in a corner of Lantarna two girls have a fateful meeting.
One is Resna, who has found hope in alchemy and is on her way to the Capital, aiming to travel to the World’s End where the source of the miracle is said to lie.
The other is Valeria, a girl who has lost her memories and now lives in the city while doing rough work as an adventurer for the Moonlight Society.
Behind them looms the shadow of the group known as the Polar Night Alchemists, a dark organization shrouded in mystery.
With different motives and ambitions intertwined, the two eventually come closer to the truth that lies dormant on the continent.

F2P players beware
The gameplay itself is fun and engaging to an extent but the gacha is horrid. Each pull is 3000 gems, and by doing all the dailies/weeklies/events, you get about 6000 gems a month. With every banner there are 2, 50% discount pulls. So you get roughly 3 -10 pulls a month. The pull rate for the limited time characters are 1%. One of the units is usually not that great though so only a .5% chance for a desirable character. If you go by pure statistics, you’ll get 1 limited time character every 3 months. And a desirable one every 6 months. TL;DR - You can’t team build in this game as a free to play player

This is more of a interactive story than actual game. Yes.. it has some aspects of game play.. but it feels clunky. The battles contain way too many clicks to complete a single attack.. and you can’t choose methods in which attacks to use of which characters in what order.. the game just cycles thru and it’s so many clicks to make a single attack.. then after the battle it goes into cut scene type of story…. That being said .. the art work is great. I do like the alchemy aspect of the game.. but instead of summoning heroes.. it would be nice if you could mix materials and create heroes. Anyway….. it has potential. I can’t comment on the story because it was so long I skipped as fast as the game let me. The most disappointing thing about this game is you don’t actually get your own character and the tutorial doesn’t ask for a username. Those are game basics.

I can’t speak for any of the other games that are a part of this series, but I found this game to be relatively uninteresting. The combat system is pretty lackluster, and it feels like it’s just setting up to be a grindfest in late game. The gacha rates were fine. The story lost my attention pretty early on because of how much it just…dawdled? Like, nothing was happening. It was just characters going from point A to Point B and chatting about very uninteresting things. There was nothing in the story that pulled me into the world or got me emotionally invested in the characters, which I feel like should be one of the first things you do at the start of the story. It feels like it’s just relying on the other titles to make the player care. That being said, I can admire the quality of the 3D animations and how polished the game and ui look overall. But in general the game hasn’t been able to hold my attention for more than 10 minutes at a time.
