Not reliable
Not connecting even after troubleshooting with instructions. After update it is terrible at focusing and locks on views. Terrible waste of money.
Microphone Issues
Camera works seamlessly and flawlessly but the microphone sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t. Fix the microphone support.
DON'T USE FOR STREAMING
Horrible lag, glitching, and input delay on either USB or Wifi
Undependable
I’m flummoxed. Most of the time when I launch EpocCam, paired with Camera Hub on my laptop, nothing happens. No connection. I sit at a “CONNECT A DEVICE” screen. Occasionally it does connect, but it’s unclear why or when. It is not dependable. Also, EpocCam does not show up as a video option in Google Meet, Zoom, etc, so it’s not usable for teleconferences.
Don't waste your money
The picture looks nice the 5% of the time it might work and be detected. Then you'd better not use it for too long or your phone will be scalding hot to the touch (iPhone 14 here) while draining the battery quicker than the phone can charge. We have a solar eclipse tomorrow, maybe that as well as some planets being aligned may give it a chance to work tomorrow. Doubt it.
No audio options
This app is great for video only. There’s no options at all for input of audio. So it used my default laptop mic which isn’t very good. I purchased the premium to use my iPhone. They explained I needed to have iTunes open. They gave a better description than my former program. But with using this description, I was able to use my old program, which lets me select my iPhones mic. So I guess you can have $8 for helping me use a different program. Haha. If you change this in the future I’d be glad to use it and recommend it.
Don’t rely on it when you need it
Running fully updated macOS and using an iPhone 11 as a webcam, I can only get the software to find the camera about every other time, and even when it does, it isn’t always available to Zoom. Save your $8.
