I’ve gone back to the official facebook app
So this app is basically unusable for me, it makes my iPhone get continuously hot to the point where it could burn my hand or damage the components in my phone, I’ve written to Apple, also to the creators of the app, they even put out a survey in which I made the problem know, and nothing. The app was updated today and still has this problem. So I give up, I’ve gone back to facebook’s official app, as I can no longer use Friendly or Friendly+, furthermore the reason I loved the app which was to have messages in one place without downloading messenger, no longer works.

Edit May 2,2024 update seems to have improved. Raised rating from 1 to 2 stars. I don’t see ads now but 90% of my feed is still groups and such that FB is asking if I want to follow. Compared to the way this app used to work, it’s still highly flawed. Edit 3/11/24-April 9 update is still garbage. Edit 3/26/24-newest version today. Still riddled with everything mentioned below. Garbage. Edit: 2/23/24–new version. Reduced to one star. Crashes stopped (thank you) but I’m STILL seeing a ton of clutter in my feed that I didn’t used to get. On top of that, now a bunch of that clutter includes a bunch of barely clad women and sexist material I’ve never seen before. Version 8.9.38 2/13/24 Sponsored ads are gone again in Friendly Plus (I appreciate that fix) but I’m still getting a ton of Suggested for You posts in my feed that I didn’t used to get as well as similar pages based on my interests that are in my feed to tap Follow. It’s still making my feed cluttered and nearly useless to me. *Edit* Feb 15, 2024. Launches the app, saw Sponsored Ads again. App crashed trying to leave a comment on a friend’s post. Came back in and the sponsored ads were gone (Suggested for You still there). What sort of programming does this app have??

5/8/2024- I’ve left comments before for this app that were not favorable, but they must have deleted them (which shouldn’t be allowed), but anyway, this app had been really good for a long time. Then I think FB changed things in their UI that caused Friendly not to work anymore. I thought the app was basically useless. However, little by little I’m seeing that Friendly has been working to adapt to the new FB interface to bring back the functionality we all loved. Its not perfect by any means, but I can see improvements. I’m hopeful that, in time, Friendly will be able to be just as good as it once was. One thing I would love to see improved soon is the ability to use messenger in the app again. Right now, it’s impossible for me to use. Also, I know phones keep getting bigger, I hope they keep in mind that some of us still have smaller iPhones so when they do improve messenger I hope it will work on the smaller iPhone screens also. Thanks Friendly for trying to get better. 😊
