Even if you have the option to watch one of these titles on a different streaming service, don’t. Before I had the Criterion Channel, I tried watching a couple of classic movies on a different service, and the picture and sound quality were garbage. The first was likely scanned from an old VHS. The second was a colorized black and white—which is already criminal enough—but the colorization was extremely unnatural. I endured the first one but couldn’t even watch the second. So far, every Criterion title I’ve watched has had pristine picture and sound. I fully expected this, especially after I watched a YouTube video on their film restoration process. But I’m still impressed. In fact, I’m kinda kicking myself for every time I rented a movie from Amazon which I could have just watched on Criterion instead. I should have signed up for this service much, much sooner. And not just for the improved quality but also the excellently curated selection. My mom raised me on classic Hollywood. If this channel had been around when she was alive, she wouldn’t have needed to record so many old movies herself. Yes, there’s a lot more to Criterion than old classics. But I’m currently on a Criterion Film Noir binge and have no regrets. I’ve already watched a dozen titles and have maybe three dozen more in my queue. The seven day free trial is nice but once I saw the catalogue, I was already sold. Definitely my most used streaming service now. If you’re a movie lover, this is your new home. If you have any doubts, just sign up for the free trial and see for yourself.

And one more thing, maybe add some programming that FilmStruck had, like move with Alicia Malone, When I heard that the criterion channel was going to launch in the spring of 2019, I was so excited when I heard about the announcement on the Criterion collections, YouTube channel, i’m not the only one that was bombed, when FilmStruck went down on November 9 of 2018, but, I enjoy the criterion channel, on Saturday of July, when I graduated back in 2019, I started my one week free trial of the Criterion channel, I watched a movie, called the graduate, pretty good one, I have no problems with the app whatsoever I can cast to my TV in the living room, and I can cast it to my Roku Xpress in my basement, but I have the Criterion channel app also on the Roku, I would love to see a feature where you can watch the Criterion channel live for free, even though I am visually impaired, I enjoy Turner, classic movies, such as, Casablanca, and Citizen Kane, and many others, I can watch the teasers and trailers for free here on the app, and I also love listening to interviews, and I love listening to interviews with filmmakers, and the adventures in movie going, and talking about movies, but I would love to watch the criterion channel live for free, even if I’m not subscribed or if I don’t have the monthly plan for $10.99, or the annual plan for $99.99 for a year, I would still love to watch the code, the criterion channel live, and I would love I would also love to have audio descriptions, on the app, so that way I know what’s going on, if you can make it happen, that would be great, and keep updating the app and add more features to the app to, cheers to the Criterion collection, and cheers to you, criterion channel, I love to sit back and have some beers and hang out with my friends and watch some good old Turner, classic movies, and I also love watching the closet pics, too, keep it going and keep it alive. Love you criterion channel, the Criterion channel is the best!
