Seeing reality of macros
Love how Carbon helps me realize my macro intakes, both daily, and on an average basis. Also, it is quite helpful that the app can automatically recalculate my recommended intake even when my activity level fluctuates or when I gain or lose too quickly (don’t have to enter activities). Finally, I like to have a high protein intake, and the app allows me to adjust my macros to my own goals (even though there are also varied recommend goals).

Barcode scanner broke
Can no longer scan barcode via camera. They broke the feature sometime in the past 2 weeks. Poor developer practice with no regression testing for such a key feature.

There are so many things I love about this app! It is helped me reverse out of a deficit and add 500 cal to my diet each day without gaining weight. I paid for a personal macro coach for over a year and I feel like I’m getting basically the same thing with this app for less than a 10th of the cost! I didn’t give it five stars because it says it syncs to Apple health, but only my weight does. I was really hopeful that the calories would sink to apple health as well. I’ve bought a year subscription, but I will be canceling it at the end of the year if they don’t allow calories to sync to apple health. I’ll have to switch to something like macro factor. My job pays me for entering my calories into Apple health, so that small sync might not be a big deal for some people but it’s a big deal for me. Hopefully, they will add it in the future.
Best Macro App By Far!!!!
Just for the mere fact of how user-friendly it is, this app gets an A+. Way better than MFP, hands-down! Even when it comes to adding new foods, it only takes a second to add them into your database. In MFP, I had to look up how to do it, but with Carbon, it’s self explanatory. Between the usability, the weekly check ins (which will adjust your macros for you if needed) , and just the overall layout of the app, Carbon is definitely my go-to from now on.
Doesn’t stack up with the competition
Poor recent recommendations, search function, database look-up. Other apps are providing more performance and a more seamless UX.
