Offline music will only load in CarPlay when there is a good data connection or mobile data is turned off. One bar cell service, good luck. The app just hangs. Makes no sense. Other things that make no sense in CarPlay: Will not display track list when an album is playing. Does not display playlists (at least I don’t use those). Occasionally will show no album art, or album art from the previous track, until the current song has been playing for maybe 30 seconds. I tried to use the app for podcasts after Google Podcasts shut down. The migration tool for subscriptions seemed not to work, and it turns out this is probably because most of my (pretty mainstream) pods cannot be found in YTM. ??? Now I’m cobbling it together with Audible for this purpose! Pretty disappointing, considering I’m here as a YT Premium subscriber. But I’m in that mainly for the video benefits, so I can at least tolerate the YTM CarPlay oddities.

OKAY so a few months or weeks ago I wasn’t using the app and when I went back on it I was listening to music and when I was going on a other app the music stopped so I check it wasn’t playing and when I played it and I went on a other app it stopped again so please fix this and plus it was working when I started using it and I luv it but it just bugs me when I try to listen to music and play on a other app so please fix it❤️

The coupe GLARING inefficiencies make it hard to give it a great rating. I love the radio stations, the variety, and havibg the subscription come with ad free YouTube Premium is probably the only reason i keep it. The features this service and app offers really are better than the competition. But the few things I can’t stand are really annoying. It’s google, you’d think cloud syncing would be a no brainer, but I can’t even get THIS APP on THIS PHONE to remember my playback position if I pause it and leave the app for 3 minutes. I open the app back up, and the song I was listening to is gone. It’s SO ANNOYING. This app seriously needs better multitasking capabilities. It seems cloud syncing my playback position would be the best answer. Then I could for example, pause on Chrome or Nest and pick up on the app right where I left off. Also, the app has been randomly pausing my songs while I’m in the middle of listening lately? Doesn’t matter if it’s headphones, in car, anywhere. Just randomly pauses. Lastly, I wish playlist organization and editing was MUCH better. It’s extremely horrible in its current state. There’s no columns to sort songs by, and you can’t move multiple songs at once. Totally inefficient. I’ve used the built in feedback seemingly dozens of times, and I realize this is google which is a massive company, but it seems feedback goes to no one. So I’m forced to write a negative review. Sorry guys.

United StatesUnreliable - Stops Working and Forces Reboot
I have to reboot my phone almost every day to get this app to stop hanging. Force closing it doesn’t work, only a reboot. It’ll just get stuck on pause and if I hit the play button it will just pause again. It’s fine until the most inconvenient time it could do this. I get the service for free through GoogleFi for now, but honestly I’d rather just pay for a reliable service. This app is too unreliable for me to continue using it. The Apple Watch app is a downright travesty. You can’t play music from it to your headphones without your phone. So much for using this for running without your phone.

For some random reason the app pauses my music and it is not by accident. It happens periodically for no reason whatsoever. As well as when I have my music on shuffle it repeats the shuffle, as in it doesn’t go through all my songs just a small portion. It’s also hard to tell when it is on shuffle cause the indicator doesn’t change much. It’s switches to a bold font which I don’t even know if it means it’s on shuffle or off shuffle
