Recent updates
Recent updates changed things around to much for me. The “in Focus section” is gone from the landing page. I’ve uninstalled the app.
Good source of news but essentially unusable
The news content is good. A wide variety of sources with a rating of left center right and reliability. I had high hopes for this app. The problem is the pop up ads that hijack your whole screen. Over and over. The same as will take over your screen every 10 or 20 seconds sometimes. It is so intrusive that I find it not worth tolerating. And this is a paid app. Normal ads are ok but taking over your screen repeatedly for me is intolerable. I canceled my subscription

Recent Update
I seriously dislike the recent update. It’s much harder to read, it doesn’t banner my breaking news, I only see news in my blind spot and can’t seem to find my Center mix. It’s much harder to use and I don’t enjoy the app anymore.
No-frills mail reader with political analysis
Ground is ... good. It's fine. The new sources it feeds me are often dubious-looking, and they service has none of Google News's more polished organizational UI/UX. It's all just one pile of largely unsorted news articles. Maybe that will improve over time, but for now, don't expect many frills here. It works. There's nothing bad really, it's just meh quality, as news aggregators go. The political analysis is cool, and would be very powerful layered on top of a more mature news delivery architecture. Fingers crossed they get there in time.
Revert changes
ground news used to be an awesome tool i’d use to stay informed. sadly they stripped the features down to basically a twitter feed unless you pay for the premium. no more quick checks to see biased language. and why is the home page either top US or for you? i want the global news? i don’t want to live in a nationalist echo chamber? very disappointed in the newest update.
Impossible to find a specific story
Is great for opening it up to just read the news in app. But God forbid you see a news story online or on tv and want to look it up in app to see coverage of it. The keyword search function to find specific topics is so frustrating when you can see all the articles on the regular internet, but the story is just impossible to find in-app. It drives me a bit crazy when i cant look up the stories i subscribed to read.
